Hi every­body,

Last time you heard from us was the day before we left Nor­way. Now we are here in Mora­vian Falls, North Car­olina, and we´ve been here since Tues­day night. And it´s great!

I have to tell you about our travel to get here. We left Sanna´s sis­ter at 7 am and went to Gar­der­moen air­port out­side Oslo. Our plane left at 10.20 am and we flew to Newark via Copen­hagen. We arrived at Newark about 3.45 pm. At the pass­port con­trol we got stuck! The secu­rity offi­cer told us that he could only give us 3 months! We were shocked! I asked him about our visa, because it says one year on the visas in our pass­ports. He told us that since we have busi­ness visas he couldn´t give us any­more than 3 months! When we told him that we were doing this men­tor­ing pro­gram and really needed to stay here a year he led us to the sec­ondary pass­port con­trol wait­ing room. It´s for those who have some­thing wrong with their visas, fin­ger­prints didn´t line up with what they had last time, and stuff like that. We waited almost two hours before I was called up. Luck­ily a woman who worked for SAS came and got our names and took care of our lug­gage and rebooked our flight.

When I got up to the secu­rity offi­cer he told me that we couldn´t get more than three months and that we had to go back to Nor­way and apply for a reli­gious visa if we wanted to stay longer. I told him about the men­tor­ing pro­gram and that we wanted to be here to get train­ing for min­istry and lead­er­ship and bring all that back to Nor­way with us. I gave him our let­ters of accep­tance and he took them and told me to go back to my seat and wait. Sanna and I sat there and prayed and tried to stay calm while we waited for the ver­dict. Finally he called us both up and told us that he couldn´t give us more than 3 months but that he actu­ally was going to do that for us any­ways. He gave us 12 months!! That was totally God´s work! And the offi­cer told us “God keep bless­ing you guys, God keep bless­ing you!” So that was really awesome!

Because of the delay we arrived at our new home later than expected, about 11 pm. We love it here! It´s so peace­ful and the view is absolutely amaz­ing! Chase, a won­der­ful guy that we live together with, has a good fire going in the fire place and we sit here and relax, read, pray, write, talk.. just hav­ing a very good time.
