Hi everybody,
Last time you heard from us was the day before we left Norway. Now we are here in Moravian Falls, North Carolina, and we´ve been here since Tuesday night. And it´s great!
I have to tell you about our travel to get here. We left Sanna´s sister at 7 am and went to Gardermoen airport outside Oslo. Our plane left at 10.20 am and we flew to Newark via Copenhagen. We arrived at Newark about 3.45 pm. At the passport control we got stuck! The security officer told us that he could only give us 3 months! We were shocked! I asked him about our visa, because it says one year on the visas in our passports. He told us that since we have business visas he couldn´t give us anymore than 3 months! When we told him that we were doing this mentoring program and really needed to stay here a year he led us to the secondary passport control waiting room. It´s for those who have something wrong with their visas, fingerprints didn´t line up with what they had last time, and stuff like that. We waited almost two hours before I was called up. Luckily a woman who worked for SAS came and got our names and took care of our luggage and rebooked our flight.
When I got up to the security officer he told me that we couldn´t get more than three months and that we had to go back to Norway and apply for a religious visa if we wanted to stay longer. I told him about the mentoring program and that we wanted to be here to get training for ministry and leadership and bring all that back to Norway with us. I gave him our letters of acceptance and he took them and told me to go back to my seat and wait. Sanna and I sat there and prayed and tried to stay calm while we waited for the verdict. Finally he called us both up and told us that he couldn´t give us more than 3 months but that he actually was going to do that for us anyways. He gave us 12 months!! That was totally God´s work! And the officer told us “God keep blessing you guys, God keep blessing you!” So that was really awesome!
Because of the delay we arrived at our new home later than expected, about 11 pm. We love it here! It´s so peaceful and the view is absolutely amazing! Chase, a wonderful guy that we live together with, has a good fire going in the fire place and we sit here and relax, read, pray, write, talk.. just having a very good time.
I don´t want to make these posts so long that nobody will read them. Instead I´m planning on getting new posts out more often then before
Please keep us in your prayers and let us know if you have any prayer requests that you would like us to take with us.
Much love to all of you from us!
God bless you and keep you.
Your website is awesome. Alot of great stuff! I am glad to finally take the time to check it out. I was deeply touched how the Holy Spirit is working in your lives and in the lives of those you have had an opportunity to minister to. Chase has shared so much about you guys, and we would be blessed to meet you some day. Sounds like he really enjoys you and the quality time spent together. I would have to say, without even meeting you personally — he is very fortunate to have such wonderful room mates.
Peace of Christ be with you both.
Kim
Thank you so much, Kimberly! Thank you for your kind words. It really blesses us to hear that. And just to let you know, your son is absolutely fantastic! God is good to us to let us live with Chase. He is absolutely amazing and he has taught us really much in this short time. He is a role model for us and his relationship with Jesus is one that I long to have myself
I bet you´re all very proud of him. We hope to meet you too one day soon. Sanna will make dinner, as she does for Chase and myself almost every day
The Lord bless you and keep you.
